(AUDIO) Rascal Flatts Are “Flatt”ered To Be Cited By Younger Artists

Rascal Flatts have reached a point in their career where they’re being cited by younger artists as musical inspirations and Jay DeMarcus says naturally that’s flattering. “It always makes you feel good. You know, anytime that you’re recognized for any of the work that you’ve done, and it’s touched somebody in some way and inspired them to do something. I’m very, very, very proud of that.”

Gary LeVox agrees and he says one of the things that has been awesome to watch is how some of Rascal Flatts’ music has become so timeless but is still very relevant. “You think about some of these songs that people are getting on ‘American Idol’ with [or] songs of ours that they sing, or ‘The Voice’. You know, some people are still singing ‘Broken Road’, that song was, to think about it, was already ten years old by the time we got it. You talk about timeless music.”

Rascal Flatts is hoping the new music they’re making, including their latest single, “Rewind,” and some of the other songs off their new album being released in May will enjoy the same longevity and success.

Joe Don – “FLATT-ering? Is that what you said?”
Jay – “Yeah, FLATT-ering … it always makes you feel good. You know, anytime that you’re recognized for any of the work that you’ve done, and it’s touched somebody in some way and inspired them to do something. I’m very, very, very proud of that.”
