(AUDIO) The Band Perry Would’ve Loved To Have Met The Man In Black

Fans around the world would jump at the chance to meet The Band Perry, but the trio says if they had a chance to meet any celebrity dead or alive, they would have loved the chance to meet Johnny Cash. Kimberly says, “Rick Ruben produced his last five albums. I heard a story that they actually took communion together every day that they were recording. And he just seemed like an amazing spiritual guy, an amazing lyricist.”

Kimberly says one of her favorite quotes about Johnny Cash came from Bruce Springsteen. “[He said], ‘He was the perfect blend of the social consciousness of folk music, the stories of country and the rebellion of rock and roll. And that’s one guy that we really wish could’ve known.”

The Band Perry has returned to some of the attitude they had in the first two singles off their Pioneer album, “Better Dig Two” and “Done,” with their latest release “Chainsaw.”

The Band Perry – who would you stand in line for :30
Kimberly Perry – “Dead or Alive, Johnny Cash was one guy we really, really, really would’ve gotten to love to meet. And of course, Rick Ruben, you know, produced his last five albums. You know I heard a story that they actually took communion together every day that they were recording. And he just seemed like an amazing spiritual guy, an amazing lyricist, and Bruce Springsteen said my favorite quote about Johnny Cash, that he was the perfect blend of the social consciousness of folk music, the stories of country and the rebellion of rock and roll. And that’s one guy that we really wish could’ve known.”
