Besides being a great mom, The Band Perry says their mother is very involved in helping them be the best they can possibly be in their career. Kimberly says, “If you ever see our mother during a show she’ll be back by the sound board, and usually she’s on her iPhone. It’s not that she’s not paying attention, but she’s takin’ notes from the show. Because let me tell ya, before everybody goes to bed in the bunks at night, we’re gonna be reviewin’ those notes.”
Neil says, “She’s like a coach for The Band Perry and she does a good job. For the past 15 years she’s done that.”
As for what kind of notes she takes, Reid explains, “It’s funny, she’ll read through her notes and it’ll be things like, ‘K.P., sing this line clearer; Neil go here during this one; Steve, Dad mow the lawn.’” He jokes that she never has any notes for him but Kimberly says one big one he often gets is “Reid, keep your hair out of your face.”
Each time they add a new song to their set list, like their latest single, “Chainsaw,” you can bet mom is watching their performance to make sure they are giving the song the best delivery possible.

The Band Perry – mother’s role :30
Kimberly Perry – “Well if you ever see our mother during a show she’ll be back by the sound board, and usually she’s on her iPhone. It’s not that she’s not paying attention, but she’s takin’ notes from the show. Because let me tell ya, before everybody goes to bed in the bunks at night, we’re gonna be reviewin’ those notes.”
Neil Perry – “She’s like a coach for The Band Perry and she does a good job. For the past 15 years she’s done that.”
Reid Perry – “It’s funny, she’ll read through her notes and it’ll be things like, ‘K.P., sing this line clearer; Neil go here during this one; Steve, Dad mow the lawn.’ So like she always…”
Kimberly – “Ummm, and Reid, keep your hair out of your face.’
Neil – “Don’t fall!”
Reid – “Well, no, she never has anything for Reid.”
