The Band Perry says if they had to describe their latest single, “Chainsaw,” it “would be the lovechild of The Judds and Led Zeppelin.” Kimberly explains, “Growing up, we had a ton of different musical influences. I know Reid and Neil, they cut their teeth on Led Zeppelin. Neil was the first drummer in the band. Reid’s always been the bass player and the rhythm section in Led Zeppelin. They were like the mini version of that growing up.”
Kimberly adds, “And I fell in love with The Judds. That was kind of my first foray in just the fourth grade into country music. I remember falling in love with them,” so “Chainsaw” is the mash-up of their early musical influences.

The Band Perry – Chainsaw :33
Kimberly – “Well growing up, we had a ton of different musical influences. I know Reid and Neil, they cut their teeth on Led Zeppelin. Neil was the first drummer in the band. Reid’s always been the bass player and the rhythm section in Led Zeppelin. They were like the mini version of that growing up.”
Neil – “Oh yeah!”
Kimberly – “And I fell in love with The Judds. That was kind of my first foray in just the fourth grade into country music. I remember falling in love with them, and so ‘Chainsaw’ is kind of this song that would be the lovechild of The Judds and Led Zeppelin.”
