Mike Eli of the Eli Young Band is not only the lead singer of the band, but according to Chris Thompson, he’s also the leader of the band in many ways. “He’s always been the guy that not only sees the end result but knows how to get us there,” says Chris. “And I think sometimes the other three of us can sometimes see things differently. He’s usually done his homework and knows which way to steer the ship, and I think when we don’t really know as a group which way to go, we usually listen to Mike and kind of follow his lead.”
Fortunately one thing they rarely disagree on is the music, like choosing “Dust” as their current single off their current album, 10,000 Towns.

Eli Young Band – Chris describes Mike :23
Chris Thompson – “I think Mike’s always been like the leader in the band. He’s always been the guy that not only sees the end result but knows how to get us there, and I think sometimes the other three of us can sometimes see things differently. He’s usually done his homework and knows which way to steer the ship, and I think when we don’t really know as a group which way to go, we usually listen to Mike and kind of follow his lead.
