(AUDIO) Rascal Flatts’ Jay DeMarcus Awkward Phase Immortalized First Album Cover

We all have those awkward pictures we’d love to forget about from our youth when our fashion or hair choices weren’t the best. Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts admits that, unfortunately, one of his awkward phases will live in infamy on the cover of the band’s first album. He says, “I was wearing like a red turtleneck, out on a rooftop and it was 90 degrees outside. That’s a little embarrassing to go back by and have to see that. I went through that awkward, you know, goatee phase with the two silver hoop earrings and the really spiky hair. So, I’m kinda glad that that’s behind me.”

Needless to say the guys’ fashion and hair choices have gotten better over time, as evidenced by the cover of their latest album, Rewind, featuring their latest single, “Payback.”
