When you’re as open and honest about your personal life as Brantley Gilbert is in his songwriting, it could be a little intimidating to know that people are going to critique or analyze your songs, but Brantley says, “As a song writer, you know people are gonna analyze ‘em and dissect the lyrics and be critcal and hatin’. You know, it is what it is. I’m gonna do what I do and put music out that I’m proud of. I’ll be glad to talk about it, to tell the stories and I really don’t take offense to anybody that doesn’t like what I do.”
Brantley says if you don’t like his music, whether it’s a party anthem like his latest single, “Small Town Throwdown,” or something more personal like “You Don’t Know Her Like I Do,” “That’s your business. But if you like it come on out to a show, I promise you’ll have one hell of a time.”
