Cassadee Pope, whose latest single, “I Wish I Could Break Your Heart,” is currently climbing the charts, has been doing some songwriting on her own while she’s been out on the road with Tim McGraw, but she’s definitely looking forward to getting home and being able to write with some of Nashville’s best writers for his sophomore album. She says, “I would love to get back and write the Hillary Lindsey, with Liz Rose, Luke Laird, Natalie Hemby. Those are the people that I really had a great time writing with the last cycle.”
No matter who she writes with, Cassadee says, “It’s really important for me to keep those skills sharp, with song writing, and just keep ideas flowing. I’ll probably write a lot about this past year and what’s been goin’ on, all the different feelings that I’ve had and the different experiences. I’ve already written a lot about that, but I’m sure a lot’s gonna happen before this next album.”
Cassadee will be on the road pretty much through early fall, on Tim McGraw’s Sundown Heaven Town Tour and playing her own dates, which means it will be a while before she really gets time to go home and dig into the songwriting process with other writers.

Cassadee Pope is currently part of Tim McGraw’s “Sundown Heaven Town Tour” and has shows with McGraw this week in Rogers, Arkansas at the Arkansas Music Pavilion on Thursday (8/7), in Dallas, Texas at the XGexa Energy Pavilion on Friday (8/8) and in Houston, Texas on Saturday (8/9) at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. At most shows, she comes out and sings a song with McGraw on stage.
