Maddie & Tae’s debut single, “Girl In A Country Song,” pokes fun at the new trend in country music known as “bro country,” which sings about girls in bikinis and tailgates and back roads and drinking. Part of the inspiration for the song may have also come from what they miss in country music. Maddie says, “We are huge George Strait fans, and Conway (Twitty) fans. And country right now is amazing. We love it, but we do miss the stories and the depth and just the fiddles and the steel.”

Tae agrees and adds, “As songwriters we’ve got such an appreciation for the storytelling that makes country music Country Music. So, we definitely do miss some of those.”

Maddie & Tae’s website features the duo’s debut video for “Girl In A Country Song” which can now be viewed anywhere. They are currently working on their debut album and talking to radio stations all over the country about their music. Both girls admit that they DVR the shows Hoarders and Cops and Animal Planet’s Too Cute. They also are both avid hunters and they love to fish.
