All the guys in Rascal Flatts have families, which can be tough to balance sometimes with a busy career, but Rascal Flatts says they manage by spreading their time away from home throughout the year and mostly working weekends. “We’ve always kind of had a balance of just doing weekend warrior stuff and trying to be home three or four days a week and just be gone on the weekends, and it makes for a nice lifestyle,” says Gary.
Some artists choose to tour in big chunks, like six months at a time, so that they can have six months off, but Gary says “Six months on steady is rough. So we just kind of spread it out over the year and take twelve months and knock the weekends out, so that way we established a lifestyle for our families, and that’s the most important thing.”
Right now the guys are filling up their weekends with dates on their Rewind Tour, which is named after their latest album, featuring their current single, “Payback.”

Rascal Flatts – balancing life :29
Gary Levox – “We’ve always kind of had a balance of just doing weekend warrior stuff and trying to be home three or four days a week and just be gone on the weekends, and it makes for a nice lifestyle. Every artist is different. Some people do six months on, six months off, but six months on steady is rough. So we just kind of spread it out over the year and take twelve months and knock the weekends out, so that way we established a lifestyle for our families, and that’s the most important thing.”
