Rascal Flatts were presented with the Jim Reeves International Award last week in Nashville by the Academy of Country Music “for outstanding contributions to the acceptance of country music throughout the world,” and Gary LeVox says the honor is humbling for the band.
“(We) certainly didn’t expect it. It came from left field. But we really expanded our fan base and we’ve been over to the UK a few times. Already been there this year. It’s just another wonderful blessing to be able to take our music overseas and to be able to present it to some new ears and some new fans and just spread the gospel of Country Music. We are just truly humbled by the Jim Reeves Award.”
Rascal Flatts is currently out on their Rewind Tour, which will keep them on the road through October 11th. After that, they’ll take some time off for the holidays, but definitely have plans to tour more next year and hope to make it back overseas to continue building their international fan base.
