Maddie & Tae express a longing for the type of country music George Strait and Conway Twitty made “back in the old days” in their debut single, “Girl in a Country Song.” Both young women are 19, so Conway Twitty might seem a little before their time, but Maddie says they both grew up listening to the legends. She says, “There was definitely classic country incorporated in both of our families, from Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Gene Watson, Gary Stewart. We’re very familiar with all those legends and we love all of ‘em.”

“Girl in a Country Song” will be featured on Maddie & Tae’s forthcoming EP, which will be released on November 4th.
