(AUDIO) Anything Goes Is More Than An Album Title For Florida Georgia Line

Florida Georgia Line just released their new album, Anything Goes, and they say the title represents much more than one of the songs on the album. Tyler Hubbard says, “With this album there is something for everybody. It kind of is one of those things where anything goes on this album, you know? We’re just out there to put out the music that we love, that we want to sing every night. There’s really no rules.”

That attitude even translated to their songwriting. Tyler says, “I can’t tell you how many times we’ve been writing the past two years where we’ll be in a co-write and somebody’ll say, ‘Man, we can’t do that. We gotta go to second verse right there,’ and we go . . . Literally, our motto is ‘no rules.’ Like, who cares about the rules of songwriting anymore?”

Tyler and Brian believe country music is in a place where the boundaries are being pushed and it’s the perfect opportunity for them to express themselves, however that translates through their writing and the songs that they choose to record. “Why box yourself in a box?” says Tyler. “For us, the title of this album represents the album, represents where we’re at, represents our work ethic, represents the limits, you know what I mean? We were pumped about that album title and kind of felt like it covered everything.”

Tyler and Brian co-wrote five of the 12 songs on Anything Goes, as well as all three of the bonus tracks on the Deluxe Edition of the CD, which is available exclusively at Target.

Tyler Hubbard – “I think if it wasn’t called ‘Anything Goes’ it would be called ‘Here’s To The Good Times Again,’ but with this one, man, we’re in a spot in Country music, we’re in a spot in our life personally where the boundaries are being pushed, you know what I mean, and with this album there is something for everybody. It kind of is one of those things where anything goes on this album, you know? We’re just out there to put out the music that we love, that we want to sing every night. There’s really no rules.
