Maddie & Tae have worn their fair share of Halloween costumes growing up and they both have some memorable ones. For Maddie, it was the time she dressed up as The Little Mermaid. She says, “It was rockin’, but I like fell every step because of that dang tail. I could not walk in it.”

In their “Girl in a Country Song” video, they’ve got guys who dress up as girls, and coincidentally, it was the Halloween that Tae dressed up as a guy that brings back a lot of memories for her. A couple of years ago the girls in her youth group back home decided to all dress up like guys. Tae decided she would be a redneck guy and she says, “I wore like my Dad’s camo overall, that should be illegal, they’re really bad… and I wore like these gnarly cowboy boots and I had a big ol’ cowboy hat and I had my hair all tucked under and then I put like makeup and made it look like dirt on my face. I had like the funky teeth. It was so much fun, I loved it.”

When we talked to them, they hadn’t figured out what they were going to dress up as this year, but considering they’re both big fans of Pinterest, they’ve probably figured something out by now.

Tae – “A couple of years ago, my youth group back home, we decided, the girls in the youth group, we all got together and decided we wanted to dress up like guys. And so like, one of us dressed like a gangster and the other dressed like a preppy, and I dressed like a redneck man. So I wore like my Dad’s camo overall, that should be illegal, they’re really bad. But you wear them hunting, so they’re perfect for that. But, I wore those and I wore like these gnarly cowboy boots and I had a big ol’ cowboy hat and I had my hair all tucked under and then I put like makeup and made it look like dirt on my face. WHAT THEY’RE DOING THIS WEEK – OCTOBER 27, 2014 – MONDAY 

Maddie & Tae broke the top ten on the country charts this week with their big hit “Girl In A Country Song.” On Saturday (11/01), the duo will play a show in Baltimore, Maryland at the Hippodrome Theatre dubbed “Girls with Guitars” with Jana Kramer, Raelynn, Kelsea Ballerini and Sara Evans. Their debut EP will be in stores on Tuesday (11/4) of next week.
