(AUDIO) Reba Is Sometimes Breathless While Watching Son Race

As we’ve watched and listened to Reba’s career, we’ve grown to know her family as well. In early 1990, as “Walk On” played on the radio, fans knew that Reba and her husband/manager Narvel were home with a new baby boy.

Now 24, son Shelby Blackstock has made a name for himself in racing. In the past few years of his career, not only have fans followed him, but have also watched Reba cheer him on. You can usually find her at the speedway, excited for Shelby, but when it comes down to it, Reba’s just a nervous mother…sitting on pins and needles.

Reba- loves to watch her son Shelby race. :29
“I love to go watch Shelby race. I get really aggravated when I get a call or an email that says ok, we’ve got you booked on Saturday and I say whoa! Didn’t you see my calendar? Shelby’s racing that weekend in Austin…No, no, no, I can’t go. But it’s really exciting to watch him race. The terrifying time for me is “starts” and when a yellow flag happens that means there’s been an incident on the track, and until I can see Shelby’s car come back around…that’s when I can start breathing again.”
