Drake White has his own unique style both musically and even with his appearance, and he admits it could be easy to get swallowed up and changed by the music business. Fortunately he has built a strong foundation of people around him who keep him true to who he is and allow him to be himself. “Through the people that I’ve put around me I just know what I sound like, I know what I wanna sound like and I have a good sense of self,” says Drake. “I know what I wanna do. So, as far as musically, I really have that foundation, that group of people around me that I couldn’t change if I wanted to because it’s who I am.”
Drake also says what you see is what you get with him. “Nothin’s contrived, nobody says shave your beard, nobody says wear this or wear that. It is what it is and that’s what I wanna hear from entertainers.”
Drake is preparing to release his debut single on Dot Records in the coming weeks.
