The guys in Eli Young Band have been making music together for well over a decade, and at this point, they can’t imagine ever doing anything else. Drummer Chris Thompson says, “We’ve been doing this for so long, I think we don’t know what it’s like to not be in the Eli Young Band.”
For Mike Eli, being part of the band is the most natural thing. He says, “When I was a kid, and even all the way through high school, I was quiet and really didn’t always feel comfortable in my skin, I guess. But when I discovered that music was who I was there was no looking back at that point.”
Even though every day isn’t perfect, the guys never take for granted to opportunity they’ve been given to live out their dream. Mike says, “Even when you have really long and tough days and you’re away from home for a month of something like that, where you’re just like, ‘God, get me home,’ you have to remind yourself that not everyone gets this opportunity.”
Eli Young Band’s new EP, Turn It On, will be available Tuesday 3/10, featuring their latest single, which is the title track.
