CURRENT SINGLE – “Undivided” w/ Tyler Hubbard
Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line co-wrote “Undivided” over Zoom with Chris Loocke, while he was in quarantine on his tour bus after testing positive for Covid-19. Tim McGraw had released his new album, Here On Earth, just three months earlier, and was preparing to release his next single after “I Called Mama” went to #1, but fortunately, Tyler didn’t know that when he decided to send the demo of “Undivided” to Tim. “I didn’t even know where he was in his process of his album,” says Tyler. “But I just knew when I was writing this, I just thought this would be a great song to give to Tim. So as soon as I had the demo finished up I sent it right over to Tim and said, ‘Hey, put some ears on this and see what you think.’”
Tim loved the song immediately and felt like it was a song that needed to be recorded and released at that time because of the message of the song and the amount of division that was happening all over the country. At that point, Tyler says, “Basically the miracle of music happened, and I feel extremely thankful and blessed to even be a part of it. But yeah, he wanted to record it, wanted to put it out as his next single, felt like it was a really timely song that the world needed to hear, and wanted me to stay on it, which was another huge honor.”
Had Tyler known Tim already had his next single picked out and was preparing to send it to radio, he may never have sent the song to Tim. Luckily, he didn’t know, and “Undivided” and its message of unity and empathy has already become a top 25 hit for Tim and Tyler, and continues to climb the charts.
