Tim McGraw is known for his trademark black cowboy hat, so you might think he has a whole collection of them he rotates, but Tim says, “I don’t have a lot. I try to stick with one for a long time.” Tim says one challenge with getting a good hat that he likes is that it takes time and it only stays great for a little while. “You shape it and then you have to wear it a little while and then it takes a couple a months for it to actually look right,” he says. “Then you only have a couple of months where it actually looks right. Then you live with it lookin’ bad for a little while before you finally get the nerve up to switch again.”

Tim just unveiled the cover for his new Sundown Heaven Town album, featuring his latest single, “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s,” and he’s sporting one of his black hats on the cover. The album will be released on September 16th, but you can pre-order it now on TimMcGraw.com.
