From the moment Payton Smith saw Keith Urban performing on the CMA Awards when he was about four years old, he knew he wanted to pursue music. In fact, Payton says, “I remember putting on shows when I was 5 years old in the living room. That’s about as far back as I remember putting on shows. But I remember the first time I ever stood on stage was in a school cafeteria when I was 11 years old. I got my first standing ovation ever in the school cafeteria and it was the coolest thing ever.”
Before that unforgettable feeling of having everybody cheer for him, Payton was already enamored with music. He says, “I knew that before that I wanted to do this. I wanted to do music, but right after that, I was like, ‘Oh yeah, I definitely want to do this now.’”
Now, Payton is officially doing it with the release of his debut single, “Like I Knew you Would.” He’s also looking forward to the time when life can somewhat get back to normal, and he can get out on the road with Chris Young on his ‘Town Ain’t Big Enough World Tour 2020.’
