A Thousand Horses is spending their summer opening for Darius Rucker on is Southern Style Tour, and although their musical styles are pretty different, the guys think it’s actually a great fit. “People want to have a good time, see some good music,” says Guitarist Zach Brown. He also thinks it would be boring for fans to see a tour full of acts who are all the same. Graham Deloach agrees. “Yeah, you don’t want to see the same show twice. I think it’s a good thing that we’re different.”
Besides the fact that A Thousand Horses adds variety to the Southern Style Tour, lead singer Michael Hobby says, “We grew up listening to Hootie and the Blowfish, and I’ve always listened to Darius’ country stuff when he comes out. We’re South Carolina guys, which is cool, so we’re gonna be reppin’ the SC while we’re out. But I think it’s a great fit, man. All the shows we’ve done with him have always gone really well and his audience seems to like us and they’re just music lovers.”
A Thousand Horses is getting to share music from their debut album, Southernality, with Darius’ fans, including their brand new single, “(This Ain’t No) Drunk Dial.”
