A Thousand Horses shows off their Southern Rock influenced style in their debut single, “Smoke,” but for several of the guys, some of their earliest influence came from church. Bass player Graham Deloach says, “I think we were all involved in the church as kids. I grew up playing guitar in the youth band and singing and what not.”
Guitar player Zach Brown played guitar all through high school and says he also learned to sing at church. Lead singer Michael Hobby grew up Southern Baptist and he says, “The big gospel choir out in the middle of the country, the little white church, that was my background growing up and my first taste of music.”
“Smoke” will be featured on A Thousand Horses’ debut album, Southernality, which will be released on June 9th.
