(AUDIO) A THOUSAND HORSES RECALL A FIRECRACKER INCIDENT GONE WRONG

Fourth of July often conjures up happy times with fireworks and family, but A Thousand Horses’ lead singer Michael hobby recalls one firecracker incident that wasn’t so happy.  He says, “My brother lit a firecracker in our house one time and it was one of those, you know, the tanks.  So I mean, kind of a real deal firework.  And he lit it and he didn’t know what to do because he freaked out. So he put a trash can over it, which I guess is kind of smart,  but it burned a hole in the floor about that big and it’s still there to this day.  And our house smelled awful, it was like sulfur, you know.”

A Thousand Horses has been busy promoting their latest single, “Preachin’ to the Choir,” but they have this Fourth of July off, so we don’t know if there will be any firecrackers in their future, but hopefully they’ll have a fire extinguisher nearby if there are.
