(AUDIO) AARON LEWIS IS THANKFUL DAUGHTER HAS TALENT BUT NO INTEREST IN CELEBRITY

CURRENT SINGLE: “Am I the Only One”

Aaron Lewis experienced a proud dad moment when he released his second solo country album, Sinner, back in 2016, featuring him and his daughter Zoe Jane, who was 13 at the time, singing a duet of “Traveling Soldier,” made famous by The Chicks (formerly The Dixie Chicks).  While Aaron doesn’t seem like the kind of guy that would encourage his kids to get tangled up in the music business, he felt pretty safe bringing Zoe Jane into the studio, because she has a great voice and loves to sing, but has shown little to no interest in fame or celebrity or wanting to be a big star.  In fact, Aaron recalls one time, “I was at our beach cottage visiting them, and I was playing ‘Traveling Soldier’ at the picnic table for a couple of people that hadn’t heard it yet.”

And he vividly remembers, “(Zoe Jane) came boppin’ around the corner and heard herself, and spun right around 180 and went right back the other way. She wanted nothing to do with it.”

For Aaron, that was a promising sign. “I’m encouraged by the fact that there isn’t any of that society-created drive for celebrity (in her),” he said, almost with a sigh of relief.

“She loves music. Perfect example, I was at our beach cottage visiting them, and I was playing ‘Traveling Soldier’ at the picnic table for a couple of people that hadn’t heard it yet. And she came boppin’ around the corner and heard herself, and spun right around 180 and went right back the other way. She wanted nothing to do with it. So, I’m encouraged by the fact that there isn’t any of that society created drive for celebrity.”
