CURRENT SINGLE: “Am I the Only One”
Aaron Lewis recently released his new song, “Am I the Only One,” and evidenced by the fact that it shot to the #1 spot on the Hot Country Songs chart, and into the top 15 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart, it appears Aaron has struck a nerve with the song, with lyrics like:
“Am I the only one not brainwashed?
Makin’ my way through the land of the lost
Who still gives a shit and worries ’bout his kids
As they try to undo all the things he did?”
The ‘he’ in that sentence refers to the former president, and Aaron says, “My new song, ‘Am I the Only One,’ was inspired by seeing everything I’ve seen over the last year as a 49 year old, proud American.”
The song laments the removal of Confederate statues in cities across the country and the erosion of his American values, and based on the response to the song, Aaron is not the only one feeling the emotions he expresses in the song.
