Thomas Rhett is heading into this Sunday’s ACM Awards with four nominations and a chance to win six trophies for Male Vocalist, Video of the Year and as the artist and producer for Album of the Year and Vocal Event for “Craving You” with Maren Morris. Thomas will actually be getting to Las Vegas a few days early to participate in the ACM Stories, Songs and Stars event and he’s really looking forward to it. “I’m really glad to get out to Vegas a little bit early,” says Thomas. “Every time we go to Vegas it’s very quick, kinda just in and out for ACM’s. But I feel like this time my wife and I kinda get to go and really do Vegas, and doing this event as well.”
Stories, Songs and Stars will feature Thomas plus Little Big Town, Midland, Cole Swindell and other writers, playing in a round, sharing stories behind some of the songs they’ve written. These types of events were the first places Thomas got to play live in Nashville and he says, “Man I love bein’ able to listen to the stories and hear how songs are written and ultimately get to play ‘em and so I’m looking forward to it.”
Thomas will also be performing on Sunday night’s ACM Awards. You can see them at 8p/7p CT, live from Las Vegas on CBS.
Thomas Rhett – ACM songwriters event :37
“I’m really glad to get out to Vegas a little bit early, honestly, this time. Every time we go to Vegas it’s very quick, kinda just in and out for ACM’s. But I feel like this time my wife and I kinda get to go and really do Vegas, and doing this event as well. Writers rounds are something that, that was my very first gig ever, like playing at Puckett’s, you know, down the road in Nashville with Chris Janson in like 2008, it’s one of my first things I ever got to do. And we kinda get to do it in VIP on the road a little bit, just kinda me and the guys just play acoustic. But it’ll be nice to get up there with other artists and writers as well and be able to kinda go in the round. Man I love bein’ able to listen to the stories and hear how songs are written and ultimately get to play ‘em and so I’m looking forward to it.”
