(AUDIO) ELI YOUNG BAND’S MIKE ELI THINKS A TRIBUTE ALBUM COULD BE FUN

It’s not uncommon for country artists to release passion projects just for the sake of doing something fun and different, whether it’s a bluegrass album or a gospel album, or like Rascal Flatts did recently, covers of some of their favorite old rock ‘n roll songs.  Thinking about what kind of passion project would be fin for the Eli Young Band to explore if given the chance, Mike Eli says, “What the Flatts guys are doing, that sounds like a really cool deal. That would probably be where we would go. There are a lot of songs that we’ve done over time.  Since like the first week we got together as a band, one of the first songs we ever learned was ‘Come Together’ by The Beatles and we still every once in a while work it back into the set list here and there.”

For now, Eli Young Band is focused on their latest country hit, “Love Ain’t,” which is currently sitting in the top five on the charts, but thinking outside the box, Mike says, “A Springsteen tribute from the Eli Young Band that would be kind of neat. But that’s coming from me. I don’t know if the band would agree. I’m a huge Springsteen fan.”

Perhaps one day EYB will have a chance to record some music just for the fun of it, and Mike will get his Springsteen tribute wish.

Eli Young Band – possible passion project

“What the Flatts guys are doing, that sounds like a really cool deal. That would probably be where we would go. There are a lot of songs that we’ve done over time.  Since like the first week we got together as a band, one of the first songs we ever learned was ‘Come Together’ by The Beatles and we still every once in a while work it back into the set list here and there.  And so that would be really neat to kind of do something like that, put together like a Springsteen tribute from the Eli Young Band that would be kind of neat. But that’s coming from me. I don’t know if the band would agree. I’m a huge Springsteen fan.”
