DEBUT SINGLE – “Learn From It”
A lot of guys in country music were athletes before they became full-time musicians, a few even had dreams of going pro before their plans changed for whatever reason. But Conner Smith is probably one of the few who can say he was featured on ESPN’s SportsCenter, twice, as an athlete. It happened, because as Conner explains, “So, one of my fun facts in life is that I played in the Little League World Series when I was 13, or maybe 12. But I was on the team that was lucky enough to get down to the final eight teams in the world in Little League baseball, and I played outfield on that team. And we made it far enough to get on SportsCenter.”
Even at that young age, Conner already had his career sights set on music, and he was not shy about sharing his aspirations. “On SportsCenter I sang a song that I had written, cause they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, and I said I wanted to be a songwriter,” says Conner. “And I was also on Top 10 Plays on SportsCenter, somewhere along that same journey. So, that’s the peak of my baseball career, was when I was 12.”
But it was just the beginning of his music career, and a cool memory to have captured on tape forever. You can watch little Conner’s pretty impressive SportsCenter performance below.
