Brantley Gilbert’s latest song, “Over When We’re Sober,” features Ashley Cooke, and he explained that he chose her to be on the song because he was impressed with the quantity and quality of music she was putting out. Ashley explains why she was excited to be a part of the song when Brantley asked her, especially after listening to the demo.

“’Over When We’re Sober,’ man, this song is so special. I actually got a cold call from Brantley one day, just sayin’, ‘Hey, you know, I have a song that I think we’d be really great on together and I wrote it with Jelly Roll and I think it’s a really special song and I’d love to have you on it.’ And I first heard the song and it took me right back to being in a toxic relationship, knowing what that’s like when you know you’re not good for each other, so you’re not together whenever you’re not drinkin’, but then you get a couple of drinks in you and you’re like, ‘Well, this maybe isn’t the most terrible idea.’ And so, the song was really, you know, it hit home for me, and also I love Brantley, I love his voice, been a fan for a long time, so I’m very honored that I get to be on a song that I relate to so well, and also I’m such a massive fan of Brantley.”
