Aubrey Peeples character Layla Grant, on ABC’s Nashville is in a bit of an interesting situation right now, having gotten romantically and professionally involved with the former president of Edgehill Records, Jeff Fordham, who is now managing her career. Aubrey says, “I think things for Layla have always been tangled and just continue to get more tangled, but I guess that goes without saying for every character on the show.”
She thinks it will be interesting to see how the story between Layla and Jeff unfolds over the next few weeks because she says, “Layla has kind of had this downfall and Jeff has kind of had this downfall and they’re both very manipulative, somewhat horrible people, and so they have this good dynamic together where they’re both fighting to be the Alpha because they’re both extremely immature in that way.”
At the same time she thinks maybe this is a situation where birds of a feather flock together and the relationships they’re forming might work because she says, “They both deal so evilly, but they can do it together. So, it’s gonna be really interesting dynamic of fighting and also being attracted to each other.”
Nashville has returned from its winter hiatus, with new episodes airing every Wednesday night at 10pm ET/9pm CT on ABC.
