Brett Young has always been a huge supporter of the military, with several of his family members having served our country. Knowing that young men and women voluntarily sign up to put their lives on the line for the rest of us, Brett says, “I think that’s the ultimate sacrifice, and the more success I have and the more grateful that I become for this life and this career, the more I realized that I’m afforded this opportunity by the men and women that go over and make those sacrifices.”
Since becoming a husband, less than a year ago, and a father, just seven months ago, Brett says, “The perspective becomes even more clear, and that is, that most of these people do have families at home. They’re not just making personal sacrifice but they’re leaving friends and family and a life back home to go do that. And so, it’s a humbling thing, is to realize that we’re out enjoying these liberties that they’re providing us.”
Brett doesn’t know if words will ever be enough to thank our military men and women for their sacrifices, or “that there is a way to be sufficiently grateful, but,” he says, “we make it a point to do whatever we can and always have them in our thoughts and our prayers.”
Brett just released his brand new single, “Lady,” which is a song for his daughter, Presley, that pays tribute to his wife, Taylor. The song is the first release off of a new project that will follow Brett’s current album, Ticket to L.A..
Brett Young – Memorial Day :42
“I think that’s the ultimate sacrifice, and the more success I have and the more grateful that I become for this life and this career, the more I realized that I’m afforded this opportunity by the men and women that go over and make those sacrifices. And, new husband, even newer father, the perspective becomes even more clear, and that is that most of these people do have families at home. They’re not just making personal sacrifice but they’re leaving friends and family and a life back home to go do that. And so, it’s a humbling thing, is to realize that we’re out enjoying these liberties that they’re providing us. And so, I don’t know that there is a way to be sufficiently grateful, but we make it a point to do whatever we can and always have them in our thoughts and our prayers.”
