CURRENT SINGLE: “Hard Days”
Brantley Gilbert just released the Deluxe Edition of his latest album, Fire & Brimstone, featuring the original 15 tracks plus two brand new songs – his current single, “Hard Days,” and a song called “Old Friends.” According to Brantley, “Fire & Brimstone,” the title track of the album, “is basically about judgement inside and outside of the church, on the surface. But the deeper part of that song is about judgement in every aspect of our life.”
At a time when so many people are quick to criticize or quick to judge or quick to blame, Brantley says, “I feel like we live in a time now where it’s easier to point the finger than it is to be self-reflective and to spend some time in the mirror for the right reasons. We spend a lot of time in the mirror fixin’ our hair, puttin’ on our makeup, or whatever it is in the mirror instead of look a little deeper at what it is in that reflection, and see if there are some things you can fix before we walk out the door and point our fingers at everybody else.”
Not only is that mindset extremely important to Brantley in this chapter of his life, but he says, “One of the most important things is I’m a husband, but I’m a dad now and I want to pass that along [to my kids], to know that it’s not really our place to judge anybody.”
Fire & Brimstone Deluxe Edition is available wherever you get your music.
