Brantley Gilbert has had a chance to play live shows of all sizes, in different venues and for different crowds, but the type of show he delivers never really changes, no matter how big or small the crowd is. Brantley says, “We try to perform, and I speak for my band too, I feel comfortable in doin’ that, that we try to put on the same show for ten people that we would 10,000 or 60,000 or 70,000.”
The main reason his show is the same is because Brantley is authentically himself on stage all of the time. “It’s about the songs, and as far as the set list goes, I can’t really change that ‘cause I operate on the what you see is what you get level, and that’s the easiest one for me,” says Brantley. “I do me, that way it’s out in the open, I’m not hidin’ anything, I’m tryin’ to be somethin’ I’m not, and that’s pretty natural to be me.” He jokes, “I’m not a very good actor. I don’t know if you saw that episode of ‘Nashville’ that I did, but it was like, all I had to do was play me, so that was my actin’ debut. I think if I played another character they would’ve sent me home.”
Brantley will be out on the road all summer promoting his latest single, “One Hell of an Amen.” You can get his complete tour schedule here.
