(AUDIO) BRANTLEY GILBERT ENCOURAGES MORE LOVE & ACCEPTANCE AND LESS HATE & JUDGEMENT

Brantley Gilbert’s latest album is called Fire and Brimstone, and when you listen to the song that it’s named after, it’s about how we tend to come at one another with so much judgment. Brantley says, “People are really quick to point a finger and everybody has really strong opinions about others and the way they think others should act, and it’s not really our place to judge no more.”

Brantley used to be one of those people who was quick to judge, but he says, ”As a person, I’ve tried in this chapter of my life, I’ve put a conscious effort into being more self-reflective than pointing my finger. You know, I feel like God gave us the tools to be supportive of one another and to love one another and get along and be productive in life together.”

In the spirit of that saying, be the change you want to see in the world, Brantley encourages everyone not to wait for someone else to change and be a better person.  He says, ”I think it starts with us, and I think a lot of times these days we spend too much time focusing on other people to take the first step. You know what I mean?”

And Brantley knows living without judgment and giving people grace is not always easy. “Whether it be through social media or just wherever, knowing there’s a million things that are going to be thrown at you,” but he says, “instead of turning around and throwing hate in the other direction, giving people the benefit of the doubt and treating people the way you want to be treated.”

Following his number one song, “What Happens in a Small Town,” Brantley is inviting fans to “Fire’t Up” with his latest single and his current tour.
