CURRENT SINGLE: “Hard Days”
Brantley Gilbert often gets asked about his childhood memories, either about holidays, or just what it was like when he was growing up, which are difficult questions for him to answer. Not because he doesn’t want to answer, but because a lot of the memories just aren’t there. “I had a bit of a fender bender, well, it was a little worse than a fender bender, right out of high school,” Brantley explains.
To be clear, that “fender bender,” was a near fatal crash, where Brantley drove his truck off the road, flipped it several times, wrapped the truck around an oak tree and was ejected from the truck through the windshield. When he flew out of the truck, he struck another tree with the side of his head. To this day he has a scar on his temple, which he points to and says, “This little spot right here on my temple, is a tree. So, my memory from that point back is really fuzzy, at best.”
Fortunately, Brantley has been able to make a lot of great memories since then, with his wife and his kids, who are two and three years old, so he’s slowly being able to replace some of his own childhood memories that were lost.
