CURRENT SINGLE: “The Worst Country Song of All Time”
Brantley Gilbert (BG) co-wrote his latest song, “The Worst Country Song of All Time,” with a few writers, including Hardy, who also provides guest vocals on the song, and BG says, “I can honestly say I was really impressed when I heard his stuff, his first Hicks Tape record, when songs just started kinda gettin’ passed around town and you’d hear ‘em through other writers and stuff.”
As a songwriter, Brantley quickly took note of Hardy’s talent. He says, “I was just extremely impressed with him and what he was sayin’. He’s kinda puttin’ a new spin on what was being done and he carved a lane out for himself.”
Once Brantley got in a room with Hardy and started writing songs with him, he was even more impressed. “I can say every idea that’s been brought to the table, every song that I’ve written with him, he finds an interesting place to take it. He paints some awesome pictures and is just sayin’ some things that a lot of folks want to hear right now.”
Needless to say, Brantley and Hardy, along with Hunter Phelps and Will Weatherly, had a blast writing the irreverent and sarcastic tune with lines that could only be sung in “The Worst Country Song of All Time.”
