If you know anything about Brantley Gilbert, then you know one thing he absolutely will not stand for is physical abuse of a woman, under any circumstances. There have even been a few times during his concerts where he has stopped his show because he could see a guy putting his hands on a woman. That type of respect for women and the instinct to stand up for them is something he hopes to pass on to his son, Barrett. Brantley says, “Hopefully a lot of that will be by example. I hope so. You know with his mama and just spending time with him, I hope he sees that and just assumes that’s the way it should be.”
Brantley is not a fan of verbal abuse either, but he says, “When it gets physical, man, then it’s my business.” He admits, “This is probably controversial, but I hope (Barrett’s) somebody who stands up and doesn’t let that happen.”
Brantley is currently working on finishing up a new album that he will release later this year, featuring his latest single, “What Happens in a Small Town.”

And this is probably controversial, but I hope he’s somebody who stands up and doesn’t let that happen. That started at an early age for me and really it’s not so much verbal. I don’t really like that, but when it gets physical, man, then it’s my business.”
