Brantley Gilbert’s first child, Barrett, is 15 months old now, and he says if God sees fit, he and his wife Amber would like to have another child. He says, “I think, you know, she wants to get to a point with him … we want him to be to a certain place before we bring another one in. But I’m not going to wait too awful long. I don’t want to be 60 to 70 years old trying to throw a ball with my kid out in the yard.”
When Amber was pregnant the first time, Brantley hoped it would be a girl because he jokes, “I don’t like the idea of prison,” meaning if any guy tried to mess with his daughter he’d probably end up in jail.
But now Brantley says, “I’d actually be okay with [having a daughter]. Now that we’ve got little man, it’d be great for him to grow up with somebody if God sees fit to bless us with another one. I feel like we were blessed to have him, you know it took a little bit of prayers. If He sees right to bless us with another one we’d be proud to have another.”
Brantley is busy preparing his next album for release, featuring his latest song, “What Happens In A Small Town,” with Lindsay Ell, but if he and Amber do have another baby, they’ll add another bunk and take him or her out on the road just like they did with Barrett when he was a baby.
