(AUDIO) BRANTLEY GILBERT MAINTAINS HIS PERSONAL LIFE WITH UNIQUE BUSINESS HOURS

current single: “OVER WHEN WE’RE SOBER” featuring Ashley Cooke

Anyone who works with Brantley Gilbert knows that when he’s off the road, he makes being a husband and a father his top priority, which means he doesn’t check his phone or answer emails or conduct any business while his kids are still awake and he’s spending time with his family. It might seem like it would be hard to get anything done, but Brantley says setting boundaries and setting up late-night business hours has worked out really well for him, and he’s more productive than if he was trying to juggle home life and work life simultaneously during the day.

Brantley Gilbert – late business hours :37

“Most of the time, I’ll head up to my office and I’ll work from about 9 or 9:30 to 3 or 4 in the morning, which is kind of a cool setup because I can return emails and get a lot done. You know, sometimes when you return emails and then somebody sends it directly back, so you feel like you can’t get caught up? That doesn’t happen to me. You know, I can kinda knock things out. And thankfully I can talk to most of the people I need to, and it’s after the business day, so they can get me caught up on the highlights. You know, if they remember it, it was a big deal. So yeah, my business hours are really late, but that does allow me, during the day I’m right there and don’t answer the phone unless it’s absolutely really important.”
