Brantley Gilbert has always been a champion for up and coming artists and giving them a chance to get on a bigger stage as his opening act because he remembers those who did the same for him and what it meant to his career. “In the beginning of my career, we were selling out bars and clubs, and we were stepping our way up and really doing a lot without a deal,” says Brantley. “So when we could get on shows with big names that was a huge thing, cause my entire business model was tourin’, back when MySpace was the thing. And havin’ the opportunity to get in front of crowds that we hadn’t built in bars and clubs was an amazing thing.”
Not only did some of the biggest stars in country music give Brantley a shot early on in his career, but he says, “All the way through my career I feel like those guys have continued to reach out and do right by me, and I can never say thank you enough. But I mean, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw’s another one of those people. Willie Nelson is another one of those people. You know we had the opportunity to play on some amazing tours.”
Before Brantley’s Fire’t Up tour, which is named after his latest single, was interrupted due to the coronavirus, he was out with Dylan Scott and Brandon Lay, and he looks forward to being able to make up as many of the dates as he can that had to be postponed.
