(AUDIO) Brantley Gilbert Tells The Whole Truth On Just As I Am

Brantley Gilbert will release his new album, Just As I Am, on Monday, May 19th, and he says the album tells the whole story of his life over the past four years. He admits, “A lot’s happened in four years, a lotta good, and bad and ugly. There’s a little bit a everything on there.” Brantley laughs and says, “I think it does a good job of showin’ exactly how bipolar I really am… You know, I’m a Sour Patch Kid, you know sour one minute and sweet the next, kind of like a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.”

While there are some things that have happened over the past four years that aren’t pleasant, Brantley says, “We didn’t skip anything. We told the story, and as the title of the record says, it’s Just As I Am. There’s no filter. What you see is what you get. It is what it is. I’m going for it. If I would have skipped something I don’t know that it would have been the whole truth or nothing but the truth.”

Brantley Gilbert – story new album tells :25
“Yah, so the new album, man, I couldn’t be more stoked. It’s definitely a themed album, it tells a story. It picks off right where the last one left off. You know a lot’s happened in four years, a lotta good, and bad and ugly. There’s a little bit a everything on there. I think it does a good job of showin’ exactly how bipolar I really am. It goes from one side of the spectrum to the other one. But, I really hope y’all are gonna enjoy it.”
