CURRENT SINGLE: “Hard Days”
Veterans Day is coming up this Wednesday, November 11th, and for Brantley Gilbert, honoring and celebrating our veterans is something he does all year round, and he’s always been very vocal about his support for our veterans and our military. And while he’s helping them, in a lot of ways, they’re actually the ones helping him. Brantley says, “I found that a lot of work that I’ve done with the military it adds a lot to my life. I invest in relationships and once I care about somebody I keep up with ‘em and make sure they’re okay, the best I can.”
What a lot of people may not know is that Brantley will often get soldiers or veterans phone numbers or email addresses and reach out to them personally from time to time just to let them know they’re not alone and he’s there for them. “You know, a lot of these fellas go through some stuff and it’s kind of up and down with them,” explains Brantley. “And I find myself on phone conversations late at night talking about things that are difficult to talk about that aren’t about me, which is really, really good for me and helps me a lot. That’s really rewarding as well.”
While Brantley will always use his platform and his spotlight to raise awareness about the needs of our veterans, and give back however he can, he says, “I think sometimes it’s the little things for me that count. What I can do behind the scenes is really where I think I can help the most. I’m enjoying that right now.”
Brantley is working with the Farmer Veteran Coalition right now to give one person who may be facing some financial hardship, $500 and a free Thanksgiving dinner provided by various veteran farmers in the coalition.
