Brantley Gilbert has always written the majority of the music he records, and a lot of that has to do with wanting to be authentic in his music a truly representing who he is and his story. And Brantley says he has always been like that from the time he was just learning to play music, and that’s a lot of what has fueled his success.

Brantley Gilbert – how got started :24

“Even when I was learning guitar growing up, I didn’t ever really want to learn anybody else’s stuff. And that evolved into writing songs, and I ended up meeting … one of the guys I played baseball with, his uncle had this cover band that played like hole-in-the-wall bars, and motorcycle clubhouses. They’d play like four-hour shows, and I’d get up and play stuff, and it kind of went from there and just went a million miles an hour.”
