Brantley Gilbert took up golfing a few years ago, but he admits he’s no Tiger Woods, especially now that he doesn’t have as much time to play. “(My game) was getting better before I had a baby,” says Brantley, “[but] I didn’t have a lot of free time to begin with.”
So now with less time to spend on the course to perfect his swing, Brantley says, “It’s still something I enjoy. At home I’ll get together with some of the guys I used to play baseball with and some of my best friends back home. And some of them play as bad as I do. But it’s just getting out there for a few hours away from your cell phone and being able to catch up and just spend time with some old friends or my dad or my brother.”
Between raising his son and working on his next album, which will feature his latest single, “What Happens in a Small Town,” Brantley golfs when he can and he says, “It’s a frustrating sport, but I do enjoy it.”
