When it comes to celebrity parents and choosing whether or not to post pictures of their kids on social media, every parent is different. When Brett Young and his wife Taylor were expecting their baby girl, Presley, who just turned one last month, Brett says, “We talked about that a lot. Everybody has a different take on that and I don’t think anybody’s wrong or right. What we basically came to is we’re gonna allow ourselves to be proud of our daughter. And we just basically decided to go into it without any borders, without any limitations, and if anything makes us feel uncomfortable then we’ll start talking about it.”
If you’ve seen Brett’s absolutely adorable daughter, you can understand why he’s so proud and wants to show her off to the world, but aside from that, he says, “I think country music fans wanna see that. And aside from the occasional crazy person that says the most off-beat thing, I think for the most part people wanna be involved because they want a glimpse in to your life. So, we decided to not make any rules and just to see how we felt about it, and so far it’s been fun to watch people be happy for us and this stage in our life.”
That’s not to say they don’t get occasional internet trolls who have nothing nice or positive to say – as Brett sees, there’s bad apples in every bunch – but so far, Brett and Taylor have enjoyed being able to give his fans glimpses of their daughter and their family life, and they plan to continue as long as people are interested and the good far outweighs the bad.
