(AUDIO) BRETT YOUNG DOESN’T PLAN ON WRITING AN ALBUM FULL OF SONGS ABOUT HIS DAUGHTER

When Brett Young’s daughter, Presley, was born five months ago, he was inspired to write a song for her called “Lady.”  But now that he’s working on his next album, when he gets together with other writers, he says, “We can write about this chapter of my life but I’m not going to be the guy that writes a lullabies record. You know, it’s not going to be a whole record for my child. I’m just not gonna write 12 songs to my daughter.”

While Brett does like to write songs that are inspired by his life, that hopefully his fans can relate to, he says of writing an entire album about becoming a father , “I don’t think that that’s fair to the fans that are going through different things in their life. I think the goal is to relate in every aspect of life and not just the one I’m going through.”

Brett’s latest single, “Catch,” is off his current album, Ticket to L.A., and “Lady” will be part of his next project that he’s planning to release later this year.
