Brett Young and his wife Taylor welcomed their baby girl, Presley, into the world in October, and so now that he is a husband and a father, making resolutions isn’t so much about a once-a-year wish list. Brett says, “It’s a year-round thing, but it would be fair to say that I do make business resolutions, but I don’t make them on January 1. But it is a good goal to set, especially when you get married and you start a family.”
While Brett hopes his career and his success last a very long time, he’s practical and says, “We’re so fortunate to get to do what we do for a living but we know that this won’t last forever, you know, and so I’m probably a planner to an obnoxious amount. People that work with me find out how calculated I really am and it kind of takes the fun out of it a little bit,” in the sense that there’s a lot of strategizing and purposeful effort that goes into making certain things happen that some people might consider lucky moments or unexpected surprises, but Brett says, “It doesn’t take the fun out of it for me and I want to take this seriously and respect it so that I can take care of a family on this.”
Brett’s latest song, “Catch,” is in the top 20 and continuing to climb on the charts. It’s the sixth single he’s released in his career, and the first five have all been number one songs, so we’d say it will be a long while before Brett has to worry about his career or his success going away.
