The Major League Baseball post-season is underway, with eight teams currently in contention for the Championship, and since Brett Young was almost an MLB pitcher before an injury ended his pitching career, we wondered who he was rooting for in the post-season. He said, “Oh, you know I’m a diehard Dodgers fan. My dad has been a Dodgers fan for 60 years, since he was eight years old. And he was just telling the story the other day about when they won the series in 59. He said, ‘I was riding my 10-speed around Long Beach, listening to Dodger games on my transistor radio, and I’ve been a fan ever since.’”
Brett’s love of baseball and the story of his time as a pitcher at Ole Miss is featured in the video for his latest single, “Catch.” Brett says, “We just got to be on the field the other day, me and my dad playing catch on the field at Dodger Stadium. It never stops being the most special thing on the planet for me to share being a Dodger fan with my dad. And this is the third year in a row they’ve had a phenomenal team, and so I’m just hoping they can take this momentum into the playoffs and finish this one.”
Brett is currently taking time off the road until November 1st, while he awaits the arrival of his baby girl, who is due any day now. While he waits, he’ll have time to watch The Dodgers, who are currently taking on the Washington Nationals in a best of five NLDS (National League Division Series), which will wrap up on Wednesday (10/9).
