(AUDIO) BRETT YOUNG IS GLAD LADY A’S CHARLES KELLEY INVITED HIMSELF TO HIS WRITING SESSION

Brett Young co-wrote his latest hit, “Here Tonight,” with Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum, Ben Caver and Justin Ebach.  According to Brett, “I didn’t even have to ask Charles. We were on tour with Lady A last summer and then I had two writers out.  I had Justin Ebach and Ben Caver out for the weekend and we were in catering at lunchtime, and anybody that knows Charles’s personality he just walked right up and he goes, ‘Ya’ll out here writing this weekend?’ And they said, ‘Yeah.’ And he goes, ‘I want to write too.’  Didn’t waste any time.”

None of the guys minded Charles inviting himself to the write because Brett says, “We’re all such big fans. We were fired up.  So ‘Here Tonight’ was actually the first song that the four of us wrote together. We ended up writing three that weekend and we ended up writing five or six over the course of the tour and it worked out perfect.”

Only “Here Tonight” made it onto Brett’s latest album, so perhaps some of those other songs he co-wrote with Charles Kelley, Ben and Justin will end up on a future Lady A project, or even a future Brett Young project.
