Brett Young has three number one, platinum or multi-platinum songs to his credit, and his fourth single, “Mercy,” just broke into the top 20, and he says having more hits definitely makes his live show more fun. “Every time you send a new song to radio,” says Brett, it makes designing the set-list a little easier. And it’s been fun to watch people sing along to more songs.”
Brett also loves that his fans have played an active role in picking his latest single. He says, “I think the most fun thing was, ‘Mercy’s’ the current single. That’s obviously in the set, but the coolest thing was like on the Caliville Tour, we kind of let the fans decide what the next single was because that’s the song they were asking for every night before it was a radio single.”
So now with four hits songs in his 35-minute set, Brett says, “It is really fun … but the other cool thing is you kind of get to test the rest out on everybody and see what’s connecting, what are people posting about or what are people asking for during the set. So, yeah, the more time and the more hits you have under your belt does definitely make the live show a lot more fun.”
Brett is currently out on the road with Thomas Rhett on the Life Changes Tour, and since he’s in the midst of working on his sophomore album, it’s possible he might try out some new material on his fans in future shows.
